Changes In Social, Upset Companies...

The recent Facebook changes have upset many companies in regard to “control”. Social Media is based on the voice of the customer. We have all seen Socialnomics, right? It’s creating the platform of YOU, the voice. The shared opinion. It’s up to the employees and advocates in these companies to ensure their messaging is being pushed and responded to in the right way. It’s empowering the people of the companies where most companies tend to want to just empower the brand. For the past year, these same companies may or may not have treated their employees good in a down economy. If they didn’t take care of people, they created less advocates for their brand and to them that is a scary reality. It’s that time. It’s the time where people need to once again take care of people. If you always move forward in the best interest of the people supporting your brand, you should have no worries, right? The one change that facebook should remove is the ability to create a page using a company logo and you are not that company. In my opinion, that needs to change.



There has also been some debate about how you should represent your company. Personal Twitter or Company Twitter? Empower your people to empower your brand, set some loose guidelines/understanding. No one wants to here the voice of corporate, they want to hear individuals. Allow people to represent themselves and share their positive experiences, opinions, etc. I’m just sayin…
