My partner and I own and operate our small company specializing in construction recruiting. He has 30+ years experience in construction and started this company a couple of years ago. My experience is primarily in the healthcare industry. I joined my partner about a year ago after needing a change from my medical transcription career. We work really well togeter in the company and in life. Over the past year our industry has been hit really hard by the economic crisis. Many of our clients who partnered with us are struggling to stay afloat. Developers aren't able to develop projects and banks are not loaning money, and this is the foundation of construction. In a six-month period we received over 200 resumes from candidates in the construction industry, and more than 60% of those candidates were of executive positions and had never been in the position of being unemployed before.

As with any successful company, you must change with the times. You must be able to adapt ebb and flow of the market otherwise your sunk before you start. Because of my healthcare experience we are also partnering with clients in that sector as well. I would very much like to hear from other recruiters in our industry, and other industries to get a sense of what you all think our economy will look like in six months, a year, and even further down the road. How are you coping with the unemployment crisis.

We appreciate the idea of split placement and would consider partnering with other recruiters who share our philosophy in recruiting.
