This week I had a really nice trip to Leitrim – Leitrim is a place I have rarely been to and it wouldn’t be somewhere that would spring to mind for a weekend getaway – but what beautiful scenery and what lovely friendly people! It reminded me that we should be proud of living in a country that has both modern cities and spectacular rural settings. Anyway, I digress, the reason I was in Leitrim was to visit the offices of the National Recruitment Services for the Health Service Executive here in Ireland. Hidden behind the decaying Our Lady’s Hospital in Manorhamilton, lies a beautiful and modern building housing the hard-working HSE Recruiters.

The team there have tasked me with joining them to find a Registrar and SHO with Emergency Medicine experience to join the frontline fight against illness, disease and injury in our country’s accident and emergency departments. Accident & Emergency Departments in Ireland are busy, fast-paced environments where communication skills, rapid response and accuracy are essential in ensuring that patients get treated in a timely manner and that their condition is not allowed to deteriorate. Finding these two excellent professionals will test my skills as a resourceful recruiter but I feel it will be rewarding to find people who help to deliver an essential service.

If the beautiful scenery wasn’t enough to entice experienced Emergency Medicine Doctors, we have devised a generous relocation package including one of the best salaries in Europe, contribution towards flights and accommodation and a refund of Irish Medical Council Registration costs.

With Basic Specialist and Higher Specialist Training Programmes in Emergency Medicine available in Ireland, working in Ireland’s A&E really can be the start of a structured and progressive career, working towards a role as a Consultant.

If you are a Doctor with experience in Emergency Medicine at any level and would like more information about working in Ireland, I would be happy to help. My contact details are:
