Everything You'll Need to Know for Increased Job Fair Results

Job Fairs are a great opportunity for businesses to draw attention to their workplace and establish reputation in the industry within which they operate. However, with so many trade shows and so many businesses participating in these events, more is required now than ever to maximize results!

Follow Up On Leads

One of the greatest benefits of a job fair is that you can impress the attendees and transform them into leads. However, to capitalize on these leads, you must have a plan to follow up with them after the event. These are potential applicants who have already expressed some interest in working there, so they should be considered high priority!

Design The Booth Around Your Goals

Design the event so that it is able to accomplish your goals. For example, if your goal is to generate a large number of leads, make sure that the pool of attendees is large enough. If your goal is to take applications and resumes, make sure you have the application process appropriately streamlined so potential recruits can manage the process quickly.

Have The Right Displays And Equipment Cases

For a recruiting event to be effective, you will need the right displays in order to ensure that you make the best impression possible. It is also essential to have equipment cases so that you can store and transport any equipment that you will be showcasing. For example, Allcases sells every conceivable size of hard-shell equipment cases to protect and store your gear.

Be Careful With How Many Staff Members You Send

Opportunity cost is real. While your show is a high priority, remember that every team member you send to staff the show is someone not available for standard operations. Find the right balance of staff members to send. You need to send enough staff members to adequately setup the trade show and to market effectively to those who attend. But don’t leave a skeleton crew back at home base, either!

Train Your Booth Staff Appropriately

There are several things that your booth staff should always do. These include:

  • Smiling
  • Thanking visitors
  • Listening
  • Knowing the product well
  • Dressing appropriately

There are also several things that shouldn't be done, including:

  • Sitting down for long periods of time
  • Eating, drinking or reading
  • Leaving the booth unattended

Job fairs can be expensive and if you do not take the appropriate steps, you may not generate enough ROI. However, if you stay focused on your goals and fire up your team, you can attract and convert a highly productive audience.
