Grandma's Chicken Soup #18: LinkedIn isn't the only thing in the news!

Last week was an exciting week in our industry.  LinkedIn now has a market cap of approximately 600 times its annual earnings. Expectations are lofty.  But, as I have said before, LinkedIn is not the only game in town.

The online recruitment paradigm has shifted and an organization should not put all of their eggs in one basket to source candidates. There are a number of new and innovative ways to find quality candidates.

The way job-seekers are searching for career opportunities is changing too. They are using Google, social networking sites, and job search engines to seek out employers of choice. This is a good thing. HR professionals and recruiters MUST adapt.

Here are my picks and comments for last week's more interesting articles as it relates to the human capital industry.  I excluded articles related to the LinkedIn IPO.  If you would like to read some of those articles, please click here: An Extra Serving of Grandma's Chicken Soup - LinkedIn's Historic IPO
