How to Export your LinkedIn Connections with Locations

In the Talent Acquisition field, information is everything. Here at Moonlight Strategic Search, we rely on advanced, cutting-edge data analysis to understand, map and find candidates in the medical field. Our company is built on proactively designing and integrating technologies in order to find every qualified candidate in the field and isolate the A+ candidates out of these. We maintain real-time living databases and proprietary software to be the most intelligent and responsive recruiting agency in the world.

Like most recruiters, LinkedIn is one of our primary tools because there is no database larger or as up-to-the-minute. But when you download your list of contacts here on LinkedIn, the file does not include location. Like many recruiters, we found this limitation is frustrating.

There are a few reasons LinkedIn intentionally limits information on your own network including wanting users to only use their platform and not take their work offline. But even with a $1,000 a month subscription to a premium recruiter or sales navigator account, the platform is time consuming and imperfect. Despite many petitions, LinkedIn Corporate has made it clear they are never going to add this functionality because it would mean less subscriptions for them.

Having an Excel file with locations on your 1st connections could be extremely useful in order to understand your network and contact people directly without the limitations of the LinkedIn platform. But there was absolutely no way of doing this without hundreds of hours of manual entry. And on top of that, after a couple years this data is inaccurate again as people move around the nation so you would have to spend days or weeks doing this all over again.

After years of working on this, we solved this problem with an external workaround. Part of our repertoire of proprietary workflows can take any LinkedIn contacts Excel file (or any similarly formatted data file) and fill out the locations of about 80% of the contacts. This is the first capability of its kind- and we are opening it up to the public!

The benefits of having transparency into your own personal business network go without sayundefineding. Your personal network is going to be the most relevant people to your hiring efforts or career goals. LinkedIn in search uses algorithms that do not readily show all of your 1st connections upfront, and it is very easy to miss relevant people to your search when browsing via the LinkedIn platform.

While we had fellow recruiters in mind when opening up this service, this capability is valuable to virtually any professional in any field.

The process if very simple; basically all you do is export your connections and email the file to us and we will turn around the file to you with locations added in about a week. First we will send an imaged file that shows the final product to make sure it is up to your specifications before expecting payment for the final Excel file. We validate the locations are accurate to what the person has on their LinkedIn. If anything is off, we will fix it!

Once you are satisfied, just send payment and we will send the Excel file back to you with full functionality.

There is no risk to you- if you are not satisfied with the end product, no worries! We will not send the final excel file and no payment is due. Since this is a newer service, we are not requiring any upfront fee, only payment on successful completion. The price is based on how many contacts you have and you will never pay for data that we are not able to find locations for.
