My experience recruiting for IT consultants is very different from recruitin for Registered Nurses...with IT consultants you may either call them or by simply posting an add online- you get through them and they start calling you.

WIht healthcare though- speficically nurses..since they work odd shifts and lots of 12 hour shifts...I am not quite sure if they ever find a time to be online to look for jobs..not to mention- there's a lot of jobs for nurses which makes it challenging to recruit one just coz most of them would have jobs already...

So my question to you guys- if you can help me is..apart from cold/diretc calling..what other way can I do to get through nurses so as to increase my production/placement/hires?

I do cold calling and asking the people I talk to to refer friends they know..I would like to do a lot of job posting online..but not quite sure if that will be as effective..

would appreciate your advice!:)

Thanks and a good week everyone!:)

I've recently been working on a search where I could find lots of names and generally phone numbers as well online, but these folks really didn't seem to spend time online or have an online presence. I made *lots* of calls in the evenings and on weekends and mostly left messages; I'm guessing for the most part people don't pick up when they don't recognize the number.

When I email someone, even if they don't think they're interested at that moment, they still have all my contact and other information in a form they can come back and reference any time. My gut feeling was that that wasn't the case for my phone messages. We ended up doing a direct mailing, and *that* finally resulted in some response. So there's another idea for you, though of course I would follow it up with phone calls.

LOL Shally, there was a plumber in there! But very impressive nonetheless.

Shally,
that was incredible. which of your webinars/courses would be best to learn this? I am pursuing a practice in recruiting and placing psychiatrists and need to build my network ASAP. your direction would be invaluable.

Oops :) MASTER ERNST got in there somehow. I think maybe he nurses pipes LOL!!! These nurses show up in searches not because of their own online activity but rather because someone else put their name up somewhere. Its a misconception that finding people on the web always means finding people who themselves took an active role in putting themselves online. A majority of the best quality information is third party references. Think about it - if I talk about someone that information tends to be more accurate or real than if that person talks about themselves!

Gregg - this one technique in particular is part of our advanced sourcing curriculum but if you are interested I recommend you spend a couple of hours with me and I can help you set up some very precise search strings for just that skill set! Check out www.jobmachine.net
