Responsibilities

An electrical engineer needs to continue studying and improving. This helps in innovating new technology. When you are responsible for the designing and development, you will need to be innovative.

You will have to draw different plans. To do this, you will have to use a computer. Therefore, it is important that you have the proficiency of handling computer and different software.

Estimating cost is an important task. As the developer of different plans, you will have to create the budget and provide the management an estimation of the cost which you need to spend for the projects.

Coordination is another vital part of the job. You will have to coordinate with different technicians and ensure the smooth progress of the projects. You will have to interact with the craftspeople also.

You will have to handle installation of different system. In addition to this, testing the installed system is another important job role which you are required to perform regularly. You need to obtain important data and assess these for the proper growth of the project.

Every organisation is responsible for following safety regulations. As the electrical engineer, you will have to check and make sure that the projects you are handling meet the safety regulations set by the authority.

Supervising the inspection and the maintenance of different equipment is one of the important job roles of the electrical engineer.

In addition to all these you will have to attend different meetings with different clients and write reports on the projects.

An electrical engineer usually works along with a team. However, some projects may require you to work alone. This depends on the type of organisation and the kind of project you are dealing with.

Work timing

It is a demanding job. However, you will have to work usual forty hours a week. Sometimes pressure of the project may require you to work more than forty hours for the sake of successful execution.
