Making Recruiting New Years Resolutions..

Forget all of the "Get fit quick" schemes, I am talking about something that benefits you and your company. Do you make Recruiting New Years Resolutions? Hard to believe we are getting close to that time of year, I know.

My resolutions, so far, are focused more on the people side of recruiting. I think in a time where virtual communication is as easier than actually picking up the phone and dialing a phone number, my resolutions this year will be catered towards putting the human element (me) back in the recruiting process.

2011 Resolutions - so far

1. Decrease email traffic, increase phone time
-with our recruiting database, both are easy to track
2. Shorten the length of our process.
-I want our candidates to not get faster turn around, from initial submission of a resume to feedback after their interview
3. Blog/Tweet more ( ok so this does not totally fit the .. less technology.. but it does put a human element in)
4. Bring back the Rolodex (or an electronic form of it)
-with tens of thousands of candidates submitting their resume the easy way (through email/web) we spend more time cleaning out our inbox than on the phone with our old favorites getting referrals. This year I want to bring more of that back.
