More green jobs - if only the government was more efficient

Seems as if the Department of Energy has $25 Billion to make loans to financially viable companies to use to fund development of electric powered cars. The program was developed in 2007 and has yet to dole out any money - money that would undoubtedly create jobs for recruiters as well.

The program’s small staff — around a dozen part- and full-time employees — must also sort through complicated proposals, up to 1,000 pages long. Many of the applicants have lined up members of Congress to pressure the department. Meanwhile, smaller companies say they fear the bulk of the money will be directed to the Detroit automakers.

So here's one example of a program with noble goals but one that is still beholden to the government for disbursement. But there are jobs that will come out of this program so speak to your political representative!
