This morning, I realized that I still have a lot of work to do before the holiday.  It's Thursday...technically mid-week for a recruiter.  Long line recruiting, local interviews, and client calls are all on my plate for today.  Not to mention our VP will be in town the next two days...right before I go on vacation for a week to refresh.

The point is, I am working up to the buzzer.  Every recruiter, no matter what industry or what experience level, can slack at this point in the week, or right before a vacation.  You have to push yourself to make that next phone call, to find that next candidate, and to close that next deal.  There are no other options, because if you don't, someone else will.

Time and time again I see recruiters let it slide...this is the time you "put the pedal to the floor" and get results.  No activity for activity's sake.  Quality all the way through your day, or else a guy like me, at 4:55 PM, will steal that candidate or push that manager to hire my guy :).

so true Zach - this is the time to dig deep. All the actions today set up activity going into 2012. Keep that pipeline full. Thanks for sharing and happy holidays.

I usually have co-workers say "I'm not going to get a manager on the phone this time of year!"  That doesn't mean you can't be productive.  Proactive recruiting for a bench, for leads, make ad calls, etc.  No excuses for laziness.

Happy Holidays!

This applies to all industries not just recruitment. No is the time to really blow your 2011 goals out the water and to make 2012 an even better year.

Great reminder! Where I am working, Metric-X, http://www.metricx.com/services-and-solutions/talent-placement, that is our core focus this week, to start off 2012 right! Like Zachary said, finding the ways to be proactive by building the pipeline and making ad calls. That's why I worked today, figure I will be able to get through to more people in my industry, IT, as most people have the day off.
