Corporate Recruiters - Get Your Act Together If You Want To Attract The Best of the Best…
While it may be “advantage employer” during this slowly recovering economy – attracting the very best student talent, for internships or full-time jobs, is still a challenge. And corporate recruiters, the smart ones, know this if they know anything. Or they make the mistake of assuming that, just because they have a job opening, the top student talent at any given school will come running. Wrong.
Enterprising, mature students with some experience, demonstrated work ethic, strong communication skills and leadership characteristics are always in high demand. Attracting them, however, will take a concerted effort with the right amount of enthusiasm, professionalism, compensation & benefits, look into challenging opportunities – and candor.
And after landing such top talented individuals it will require an equally concerted effort toward onboarding, challenging, supporting, developing, unleashing, rewarding and retaining them.
BTW--when you find top talent...always go back to the source -- the college and university were they come from and nurture that souce by: partnering, investing, scholarshiping, interning, co-oping and hiring more of the same.
It's called pipelinging. Do it well and grow your own high potentials to meet the challenges of the future.
