Here is our weekly feature in which we share the top articles we enjoyed from the past week about recruitment marketing. This week we'll be talking about Jeff Van Gundy's wisdom, DunBar's Number, Job Boards not being dead, evaluating your LinkedIn Network and Taking Risks.

Here are the articles our that interested us this week (in no particular order), enjoy!:

The Wisdom of Jeff Van Gundy Part IV by Steve Boese (@SteveBoese)

Great sports analogy on the qualities needed when looking for talent that will be irreplaceable at your company.

Overcoming the Limits of Dunbar’s Number by Omowale Casselle (@MySenSay)

Interesting post on how you can better manage your contacts to help you overcome the DunBar’s Number.  This is becoming more and more important in our hyper connected world.

Job Boards Are Dead?  Not So Fast My Friend! by Jason Lauritsen (@JasonLauritsen)

How many posts have we seen that marked the end of job boards?  100?  1000?  Jason has some great points in his bullets at the bottom on what you need to do to evaluate and use job boards to their fullest.  I fully agree that you need to measure results with recruiting metrics and the great need to write great job advertisements.

Have you analyzed the Value of your LinkedIn Network? by Glen Cathey (@GlenCathey)

Really nice piece on how to evaluate your current LinkedIn Network and the value it provides to potential connections.

Taking Risks in Tough Times by Ron Ashkenas (@HarvardBiz)

Nice piece on the importance of creating a culture that makes taking risks OK.  Failure is OK as long as you learn something from it.

Hope you enjoy the list.  If you have any articles I should add to the list feel free to add them to the comments or send me an email at chris@smashfly.com or follow us on Twitter @smashfly.
