Resume must contain all the basic information like content of your resume, objective, education, work experience etc.
A well-written resume can be the key to connecting positively with a potential employer, and can make the difference in getting selected for a job interview –or not.
Resume formats help a lot to prepare the resume that suits particular profession. Now-a-days it has become easy due to lot of information available on the internet.
Sandy,
You make good points on an important subject--resume writing
@Julian --The applicant tracking system software will access candidate resumes, or better--the words (and word arrangements) on their resumes that match the words (and word arrangements) on the job description. So any word parsing that is done--is done regardless of the resume format.
The job description and any additional words/phrases/acronyms, etc., entered by the recruiter/hiring manager in a resume search will pull-up a list of the top candidates based on their well written resumes. Those individuals have a shot at an interview(s) and possibly a job offer.
To Sandy's point, "A well-written resume can be the key to connecting positively with a potential employer"--because once the resume is pulled up for visual inspection by the recruiter--what is stated; how it's stated and why it's stated will either impress or depress the decision maker.
Sandy more over resume must be parser compliant as most of the company using Parsing engines. If you need some guidelines on how to make it parser complaint do let me know..
