On Wednesday I rocked at an Interview I had with a small recruitment firm that has been in business for 15 years, has a great company culture and offers a opportunity to hit the ground running! My observations when I walked in were; a small staff, everyone smiling and no one looked like they had a migraine. The staff really looked passionate about their jobs and like they were happy to be there. The hiring manager was very impressed I had done my "homework" on the company. It seems there would be room to grow and broaden my horizons. We talked about the past, present, and future of how business is done, and how it has evolved in Human Resources. It was a great conversation over the course of 1 and 1/2 hours. What surprised me the most was that we spoke about social media. We talked about applications and implementation. She mentioned that she never uses the newspaper, and advertises on job boards. Also, she mentioned that she has been seriously considering exploring social media as a tool for the organization. I mentioned how interesting Twitter has been for me personally and professionally, and the value of networking. I also said from a recruitment and sales perspective, tweeting could very well become the New Cold Call. Oh the possibilities............
I left the interview feeling confident, empowered, energized and excited about the career opportunity presented to me. I hope you’ll continue to follow me on this great journey. The excitement is mounting!
