In any part of the world where industry exists there is always going to be a need for man power. There are those that say that with improving technology, there may no longer be a need for human workers. While there are areas in the world where computers are taking over, it will be decades before a complete take over if it ever does over. There will of course always be a need for humans to work and repair these computers. This means that human labor is very necessary now more than ever. This means that human recourse management is still very important in the development agenda. No firm on the entire planet can rightfully claim not to need a resource management department.
Emerging Economies
There has been massive growth in recent years in the UAE which has meant that there have been several firms setting up shop here. This has mean that HR firms have had their work cut out for them. Recruitment agencies in Dubai have particularly has a gigantic task in fulfilling manpower needs for all the multinationals with operations there. The demand has been so great that most of the labor has had to be outsourced from other countries, some as far as Africa. While here are professionals that the firms could bring in them, there are others that they just couldn’t. This has meant that employment agencies have been the key way of acquiring this labor. The growth was so sudden and enormous that the UAE has even been unable to sustain even unskilled labor.
Unemployment rates here are at all time lows with opening popping up every day. This has seen mass exodus from other countries for jobs as small as security guard positions and waitresses. One of the biggest suppliers of such labor is the small east African country of Kenya. This is evidence of the massive growth and subsequent need of human labor, both skilled and unskilled. Some people however fear that this practice of getting labor from the outside may be unsustainable.
Agencies
The role played by employment agencies is very important to the establishment and growth of these firms. This is because it would cost them a whole lot more than it does to search for, recruit and train workers to work in their establishments. Employment agencies bridge this gap by doing all this for the firms. They even go a step further to managing these employees for the firms which makes work even more streamlined. Human Resource without these firms would be a total nightmare for the companies as they would have trouble with communication as well as the task of handling employee grievances. This would mean that a team would have to be put up for recruitment purposes which would be quite expensive and unsustainable. Since agencies serve several firms at once they do become very cost effective and sustainable.
