Top 25 Most Common Jobs Posted Online

Registered Nurse holds the number 1 spot of the top 25 demanded job titles, meaning it’s the most advertised job opening. This is according to data from WANTED Analytics, which maintains a database of over 1 billion job ads spanning 10 years and 11,000 occupational categories. Administrative Assistant moved towards the top of the list, surpassing Occupational Therapist and Physical Therapist, which previously held top slots. However, three healthcare positions are still among the top 5 most in-demand job titles.

Owner Operator has risen in demand since WANTED Analytics last reported these findings in April 2013. Previously, this job title occupied the 27th spot on the list. Now, it ranks 9th. Employers are searching for Owner Operators to transport items under contract. Interestingly, while Owner Operator has grown, Driver and Truck Driver are no longer among the most frequently advertised job titles. Yet, Delivery Driver and a title with a CDL specification, Class A CDL Truck Driver, are listed. The latter title wasn't on the 2013 list. Employers may be using the job title to stress the importance of this requirement for the position.

Cashier climbed the list from the 35th spot to the 10th. Speech Language Pathologist is also more in demand than it was 2 years ago. Merchandiser had disappeared from the top titles in 2013, but now’s it back at number 17.
