The Soil Association, in partnership with the Organic Trade Board are looking to establish a new position representing organic trade in the UK. One of the Soil Association's strategic priorities is to champion organic standards and principles and raise public awareness about the benefits of organic production.

Trade Director
c£60,000
Full time, fixed term contract for 12 months
Based in Bristol or London with frequent travel around the UK and occasional travel outside the UK

We are seeking an experienced Director to represent the views of organic businesses, advocating on behalf of organic traders to a wide range of audiences in and outside the organic movement.

You will work in partnership with the Soil Association and the committee of the Organic Trade Group to deliver a business plan identifying what will be required to increase the size of the organic market.

You will create clear and effective lines of communication between organic businesses and the Soil Association and ensure that organic businesses are aware of the full range of services currently provided by the Soil Association. You will build effective relationships to ensure that the needs of the organic trade sector are considered within Soil Association press, marketing and campaigning activities.

You will already have a successful track record of working in the organic trade sector, with substantial experience of external representation of an organisation at a senior management level. The ability to influence at senior level and raise support for campaigns is essential.
