Title: Senior Lead Programmer
Location: Sacramento, CA.
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 12+ months with possibility of extension up to 36 months

Role/Responsibilities:
A Senior Programmer acts in a lead capacity on the most complex applications, and/or on the most complex data processing problems and can work independently as a high level technical specialist. This classification must have knowledge of electronic computer programming; electronic data processing equipment and its capabilities; principles and techniques of studying work processes for new or revised electronic computer applications; principles of designing methods of processing data; technical report writing; independent verification and validation and statistical methods. This classification must also have the ability to write complex programs and develop detailed program specifications; analyze data and situations, reason logically and creatively, identify problems, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions; apply creative thinking in the design and development of methods of processing data with electronic computers; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work; speak and write effectively and prepare effective reports.

Experience:

This classification must have a minimum ofseven (7) yearsexperience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming, at least four (4) years ofwhich shall have included responsibility on a project basis for analyzing operational methods and developing computer programs to meet desired results.

Java, JDBC, J2EE, Design Patterns JSP, EJB, Spring, Hibernate, AspectJ, MQ series, JMS, Websphere, LDAP, JAAS, TIM\TAMe. XML, XSLT, Struts, UML Design.

- Strong communications skills and the ability to collaborate successfully with a diverse team of other developers and client staff

Must have Qualifications:
- Experience with the California CLIENT IT Systems
- Experience working with any State CLIENT IT Systems
- Experience working on large public-sector integration projects
Additional Requirements: All candidates will be required to pass the CLIENT Live-scan fingerprint screening and a drug test.

The work location is on-site with the CA CLIENT client in Sacramento, California.

Note from the Client:
There are several VERY important criteria I have here. One is this person needs to have STELLAR communication. Accents are ok but if they have a hard time understanding me and I have a hard time understanding them…they will be eliminated. Second is this is a LEAD role. They have to be comfortable leading and technically very strong. If they have not been in a lead role or are not comfortable leading a group in a sometime chaotic environment, they are not the right person for this position.
