I'm curious. There is no better quality to have when you're dealing in people.

I'm curious about what people want, what they're paid, why they like and don't like their jobs, what they're willing to do to change their position in the world, what holds them back, what makes them fear change, what makes them desperate enough to create change.

I'm curious about those who stay in a job because it's the right thing to do, and those who leave because life's too short, curious about how much money it takes to put up with a manager like that, or if it's not an amount, but what the money represents. I'm curious why people don't add benefits into their total comp package, and why they make benefits such a big deal if more money would solve the problem.

I'm curious about whether generational differences are a media creation, or if they're real and relevant. Curious if you can teach an old dog new tricks or a new employee respect for experience.

I'm curious if i can make more this year than last, and if the result was luck, determination, or something else.

The more I know about people, the better prepared I am to match them to companies real needs, and not their job descriptions. That's why I'm a smart recruiter.
