What makes me a Smart Recruiter? Recruitingblogs.com makes me a smart recruiter and all of you make me a smart recruiter. Let’s face it, we all share somewhat of the same drive and attributes as recruiters. Some just succeed a little more than others.

So what makes me different? Honestly, not much. But one day oh probably a little more than a year ago, I had some great conversations with some guy who had a vision. A vision to create a home for recruiters like you and I. A home where we can share our thoughts and ideas, and a place to unwind and chat at the end of our day. It was during this call that I knew I made the right decision to make this a career. An “A-Ha moment” if you will. There were others like me out there, and they too were not afraid to say it.

Now I don’t need to mention his name (JD) but it’s true. There are others like me out here in this crazy world of recruiting. As Becky wrote in her posting I lift the stigma each and everyday that I talk with people and that’s not an option; it’s a desire. Some call me a tech geek, and search nut, a stalker, a data manipulator, recruiting nerd, oh, did I mention tech geek? I call it absolutely loving my profession and needing to learn everything I can from everybody I can. Never working to recreate the wheel but only to build upon it.

I swear there is a method to the madness here, but that’s what makes me a smart recruiter.
