Which online recruiting source yields the best applicants?

Recruiters strive to keep stats measuring which online sources yield the most applicants and ROI when considering job posting costs. Is there a way to also measure which sources yield the best applicants?

The following ResuWe Employer ATS screenshot views applicants who have applied for a VP Sales position. The left highlighted column lists the applicants' ranking based on keyword matches according to the job description. The right highlighted column automatically lists the applicant source (LinkedIn, Indeed, SimplyHired, Craigslist, etc).

How is it possible to post one job to multiple sites, automatically track the source, and automatically calculate an applicant score? Each job has it's own short hiring.at URL and in this case it's hiring.at/c5pqd.

This URL can be the apply link on a Craigslist ad. You can also add this link to a PPC (Pay Per Click) ad on LinkedIn DirectAds (more on this coming soon!).

New applicants are automatically matched to the VP Sales position, ranked based on keyword relevancy to the job description, and tracked by the source. You can even change the keyword scoring criteria by modifying the job's boolean string.

So which source yields the best applicants? Just go to Analytics (top left link in ResuWe Employer) and view each job's clicked and applied analytics. You can sort by Clicked, Applied, and the Average Rank. The Average Rank determines which source yields the highest applicant keyword ranking average. Salesheads wins with an average rank of 14 with 1 applicant, however Linkedin and Indeed both tie for 3rd place with 6 and 4 applicants respectively.

So which source yields the best applicants overall? Each position's results will be different based on the type of job, level of the position, and region. A VP Sales position may yield better results on Indeed.com, where a Scientist position may receive more applicants from Biospace.com, and a Director level position may be filled with LinkedIn DirectAds. Once you get a feel for which online sources yield the most applicants and best applicants, you can easily adjust your recruiting budgets. Some great options today include sponsoring jobs on Indeed or SimplyHired, placing PPC LinkedIn DirectAds or Google Adsense Ads, or posting to traditional job boards Monster, Craigslist, or Biospace.

Using ResuWe Employer, you can see for yourself which online sources yields the most applicants but most importantly the best applicants.
