Kendra,
I wanted to let you know that in addition to the online course, there are in person training sessions available if you perfer.
Also, I think it is important to mention that my company provided the option to obtain our certification with out the cost falling on us. Depending on your finance situation, I would recommend the training, but I am not sure that I would say it is worth the $1,000+ cost. However, I know the actual certification would pay off in the end.

Hi Kendra,
Your mastiff is impressive! I just got a puppy who is a PitBull/Bull Mastiff mix. She is adorable (4 mo.s 25 lbs), more Pit than mastiff but apparently should get to be 90-100, what does your's weigh in at? :)
I became certified 3/14/08 after taking the training corse 3/13/08. It is a full day of online training, but I learned a lot of valuable tricks! I don't know how familiar you are with search engines, but if you are a little more on the green side of recruiting (as I am) then I think you might find it useful to learn various power searches (for resumes, staff, alumn etc.), you also walk away knowing: Peer Search, PeelBack technique, Harvesting technique, X-Ray sites, Flip searches and more.
The majority of training really hones in on proper Boolean Language and how to get the search engines to bring you back exactly what you are looking for.
The test takes about 1.5-2 hrs. 40 multiple choice questions. AS long as you pay attention in training and practice on your own a little before the test - you would be fine!
I hope that helps - let me know if you have any other questions!

My other mastiff's name was Mumbles - so I had to come up with something equally as cool. Unfortunately the day after I decided on the name, David Letterman got that monkey and named him Mowgli. Oh well.
