Comment by Dave Mendoza on December 19, 2007 at 1:04pm: I agree with Jeremy - I think it reflects poorly when people post 12 times in an hour to fill up the activities section on the main page to self promote themselves and even call and threaten bloggers with a make believe power to remove nominations because they support other nominees. Despicable. Even more so when they attack colleagues by name they portray as friends online and phone and poison the contest. Above all when they speak for Jason Davis on untrue innuendo. Beyond pale. I think content is another issue with people calling to intrude on sponsorships, using others research without giving credit. Not listing jobs they were fired from, not finishing projects for renown thought leaders and leaving them in a lurch with clients. Not giving credit to those who built their linkedin networks. Posting self congratulatory comments on several blogs, copying and pasting articles and links daily and calling it a blog post. Telling everyone Jobster was going to sponsor him for $200k, then it became $80k then zero, telling everyone a vendor sponsored suite was his 'birthday party' when it wasn't - its horrid unprofessionalism. And for the end all be all - inviting themselves to dinner with people he backstabs. Lots of pots calling kettles black.So yes, this is a much more positive way to contribute.
