A Toast To A Great Contributor

I wrote some weeks back about the phenomenal spirit of the recruiting community at large and how it has positively influenced my work and my desire to be a contributing member of that community. I would like to highlight the contribution of one exceptional leader in the field. Kathleen Smith heads up ClearedJobsNet (www.clearedjobs.net) and has created an incredibly valuable set of tools to support those of us who are recruiting in the security clearance arena. Her site offers a deep pool of cleared candidates to source and a high-traffic location for targeted candidates to review job postings. All of this functionality is offered at a price well below that of competing sites. A few of the highlights:

  • Over 75,000 current searchable cleared resumes
  • 2,355 new resumes monthly (average)
  • 78% of resumes hold Top Secret or higher
  • 143,000 unique visitors (monthly average)
  • Over 587,000 page views (monthly average)
  • Single and Multiple Job Packages
  • Compatible with your ATS
  • OFCCP Compliant

Beyond the web resources available, Kathleen and her team put on job fairs and offer exemplary customer service in all their business areas. Far more important, however, is Kathleen herself. More than just creating an effective business model she puts herself at the forefront of building a community of employers and job seekers in the clearance space. She is active in a variety of programs devoted to assisting veterans as they separate from service and continually offers guidance to those navigating the tricky waters of Department of Defense and Intelligence Community contracting.

I have personal knowledge of her generous nature. She and sourcing guru Kelly Dingee (another rock star of the community) spent time helping a former colleague to radically improve her LinkedIn presence and those efforts have had a tangible effect. More personally, Kathleen has offered me a great deal of constructive advice on my fledgling blog efforts, even once at the end of a long day putting on one of her job fairs! She hasn’t profited a cent for these efforts, but has gained a friend and supporter for life. Here’s to you, Kathleen, and I look forward to seeing you at RecruitDC!

Doug - thank you for this. Your burgeoning blog posts have been awesome and I am so happy that I could help. It also reminds me that I need to find more time for my blogging as I think this adds value to any and all communities.

You have really taken the community by storm! Can't wait to meet you at recruitDC!
