Social Media Recruiting Doesn't Take a Vacation! Grandma's Chicken Soup #29

Sorry I missed you guys last week.  I took a little vacation from Grandma's Chicken Soup, but I am here this week with an extra serving of online recruitment headlines from the past two weeks.

I know a lot of HR/Recruiting professionals are on vacation in August and why not? We all need a break some time. But, September is upon us and the HireClix will be headed to the ERE Fall Expo 2011 - check us out at booth #304. We look forward learning about the exciting things happening in the industry. Make sure you stop by and see what we have cooking to help build or grow your social media recruiting strategy.

The smart money is moving to digital recruiting through social media recruiting and targeted online advertising. Check out the last two weeks of social recruiting headlines...

*Shameless Self Promotion/Full Disclosure Statement* athenahealth is a HireClix client. The HireClix team is very excited to have a featured article on ERE. We are fired up about the opportunity to have such innovative clients such as athenahealth. This is a great example of progressive recruitment marketing and a client strategically moving beyond the job boards.

Great post, great point -- it's taken a lot of folks getting out there into web 2.0 to realize that traditional job boards are no longer effective recruiting tools for most professional positions, irrespective of their (individual market) specialty...though I still have the same doubts Adobe does about Facebook truly becoming an effective recruiting tool.

Hi Dan.  Thanks for the comment.  I think the niche job boards still have their place and can be effective.  Facebook, LinkedIn, targeted banner campaigns, etc. are part of an overall digital recruitment marketing mix.
