I was a bit excited to learn about the recent statements by a Harvard University Professor of Divinity that the famous fragment of papyrus which discusses Jesus Christ having had a wife is not a forgery.  Nonetheless, scientific skepticism requires us all to retain some doubts as to whether such a thing is even possible.  I was in a liquor store, purchasing my nightly dose of 100 Sapporos when the interview with the Harvard Professor was on TV.  The proprietor of the store asked me "What is this about?"

I replied, naturally, "Some people think that Christ had a wife."

He shook his head and said "This is ridiculous.  He was a pure man."

Nonetheless, I still completed my transaction with the vendor.  I believe that this is proof that I am learning tolerance -- if not as a virtue, then at least as an excuse not to do something rash.

Which brings me to my point:  I wanted to look up the Gospel cited on TV to discern exactly what had been said, but somehow instead ended up researching the "Gnostic Gospel of Thomas".  This might have been a large error, but my search, my quest, my seeking for Truth (inspiration, bliss, satori, nirvana, wisdom, or whatever you might wish to call it) was rewarded by finding the following quote (which I will quote):

'Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. [And after they have reigned they will rest.]"'

[quoted above, for those directionally challenged]

Naturally, I wonder what this intriguing quote means to other recruiters, other searchers and seekers who quest after solutions that evade so many other people, but which are our Destiny to solve:  "What does that mean?"

The part about continuing to seek until finding is pretty obvious... We must not let Heathen Pagans stop us in our chosen (holy) profession, but what does 'disturbed' mean?  why 'marvel'?  why 'reign'?  and why 'rest'?
