Stop the Insanity - by David Szary from his 3 O'Clock Coffee Break

If you are reading this (or reviewing any e-zines, blog sites, etc.), you are probably either:
1. Bored – and passing time.
2. Reading for pleasure/ fun.
3. Reading to gain knowledge.
If you fall into category 1 or 2, enjoy!

If you fall into category 3 (or a mix of category 2 & 3), are you really getting anything out of your time spent reviewing/reading this material?

What I mean by that is . . . do you actually:
Read the information?
Identify ideas/techniques that you can implement to improve your performance?
Implement these things into your daily routine?
See your performance improve as a result of doing this?
If you are not doing this . . . you need to Stop the Insanity.

Albert Einstein once defined insanity as:

“Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting your results to change”.

If you are reading to gain knowledge my recommendation to you is to make the most of this time by:
1. Having a dedicated notebook on your desk to collect relevant, interesting information you pick up from your readings.
2. Each week, dedicate 1 hour to reviewing your notebook to organize/prioritize these thoughts/ideas you picked up.
3. Each week, try and implement one new idea/tool/technique that you picked up during the past week.
Track your progress and feel free to share with us your results!
