The War for Talent... Is it over? In which case who's won? Almost without exception the HR Directors I meet say that the problems recruiting good people is holding back their organisation., with a dearth of people with the right skills available.
And yet, in meeting with senior outplacement clients, as I do, as often as not their very real fear is that finding another job of any substance is going to prove a challenge. The age old chestnut of age discrimination keeps cropping up. "I'm over the top" I hear; "Nobody will want me." I'm pleased to say that with the right focus, skills and energy levels, these clients really do find new roles. Indeed, often with surprising speed. A little luck helps, of course.
