Total Back Office Solutions can give you recruitment agency formation advice

Social media has been rumoured to have the ability to cause a "seismic shift" in recruitment, but one expert thinks this is unlikely, which may interest those intending to set up a recruitment agency.

According to the Recruiter, managing director of TMP Worldwide Jon Porter, speaking at a London Recruitment Society meeting, does not believe that social media will engender a big change for recruitment agencies.

While some think that such platforms will make finding suitable candidates much easier, Mr Porter highlights that agencies will still need to find those individuals and as such, they will not constitute a marked difference.

Chief executive of Recruitment Genius Geoff Newman states: "I believe it works for technically savvy people - good examples are Cisco and Dell, but it doesn't work generally."

A recent report from Badenoch & Clark shows that, in the current economic climate, HR professionals are becoming more highly valued by employers.
