Companies in the UK are struggling to hire staff in the financial sector, a new report has shown, which may interest those trying to set up a recruitment agency.

The study, published by recruitment specialists Robert Half, assesses responses from financial leaders across the world regarding problems with hiring, retention and staff-related issues.

With 29 per cent of employers struggling to find candidates for financial roles, 52 per cent of UK respondents also claimed to be concerned about key financial figures leaving the company.

Meanwhile, audit and accounting roles were found to be hard to fill by 25 per cent and 16 per cent of UK respondents respectively.

Recent figures from Astbury Marsden show that the number of financial jobs available in London is increasing. The number of roles in the Square Mile rose to 5,031 in August, up from 4,713 in the previous month.
