Which has more relevance in the world of staffing & recruitment--being certified in such disciplines or being certifiably crazy smart in terms of pursuing and getting results in such disciplines?

Old school recruiters were once the new school recruiters who wanted to find new ways to get the edge and found them. Those who keep that spirit of discovery, through trail and error and observance of others, understand and appreciate the new comers to the discipline who have the same outlook and fervor.

My take is that top performers, young and old, have been and have to be a little crazy to succeed and survive year after year in the recruitment business.  So a TOAST to the crazy in all of us who value what worked in the past and are smart enough to hone that knowledge to meet the demands of the present.  Doing that will keep us all in high demand for the future

Our appreciative clients and candidates are the measure of our success because their destiny, in small and large ways, has been positioned and boosted thanks to our contribution to the hiring process.

A Toast “to the crazy ones,” by Steve Jobs

"Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do."
