I am new to recruiting and am currently finishing up my BA in HRM. I am doing a paper for my senior thesis about recruting methods on the west coast vs the east coast. If you live on the west coast and have some time I'd love it if you could answer a few question for me.

First I need to know what state you work in! :)

1. Do you think recruiting is better suited for a "people" person or
for someone who is very business savvy?
2. Does your company treat recruitment as a sales position or as part
of a larger HR picture?
3. Do you find most of your successful hires via job boards or networking?
4. Do you find most of your best hires via paid sites (monster.com or
careerbuilder.com) or free sites (craigslist.com)?
5. Do you use networking tools such as linked in/myspace/facebook to
do recruiting? If yes, are those methods successful?
6. Describe the culture of your state as far as recruiting is
concerned. Also feel free to add any other comments.

You can post here or email me at katemay7@gmail.com if you don't want to post for all to see :)

This would be a great help and I think I could get a great paper out of this information!
