Very Urgent Requirement. We have placed one consultant with this client and we need one more for CT position.

Location: Norwalk CT

Duration: 3-6 months

REQUIRES AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF MySQL EXPERIENCE.

Possible phone hire but may require in person interview

Job Responsibilities

* Hands-on management of day-to-day operations and activities related to database management

* Monitoring, maintenance and issue resolution of production, QA, and development environments and assuring proper utilization and performance

* Management of database installations and upgrades on MySQL and SQL Server platforms

* Coordination of data activities with outsourced partners

* Management and execution of various database administrative tasks including backup\recovery, replication, performance tuning, problem determination and resolution, data import\export, and database deployments

* Maintenance of disaster recovery plans and database administrative processes and procedures

* Ability and experience working with large amounts of data (multi-terabytes)

* Ability to work in a team-oriented, start-up environment


Job Requirements

* 3-7 years hands-on experience as a DBA with multi-years experience with MySQL and at least one of the following: Oracle, MS SQL Server

* Strong understanding of RDBMS technologies and excellent troubleshooting skills required

* Basic to intermediary Unix and Windows System Administration is required;

* Shell scripting knowledge and basic programming knowledge a plus

* Ability to work with short deadlines and a positive 'can-do' attitude

* Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced, start-up environment

* Self-motivated, high-energy, and articulate

* Passionate about software development and data management
