RecruitFest! is coming up fast. A little faster that I would like right now. You know there are certain things I think I do very well and other things as most people who know me know, not so well. Most of the things I come up with here and everywhere start as an idea and I rarely ever give any thought to the details of what needs to happen in order to make the idea work.

I have done some very good things so far with RecruitFest! I have assembled a group of discussion leaders who I feel have so much to share with you.

John Sumser:
John is my mentor and I am lucky he takes such a strong interest in the things I do and in wanting RecruitingBlogs.com to be a destination that will not go away.

John has more insight into the big recruiting picture than anyone I know. I hope no one takes offence to that. The opportunity to spend a day with him when he has his “I’ll tell you everything you want to know” hat on is something that is invaluable – Trust me on this one

Craig Silverman
Craig understands the third party recruiting industry in a way that will help you build your business. He has a track record of building a multi hundred million dollar recruiting practice and he is coming to Toronto because he wants to spend it with you and talk about the things that make a recruiter understand what exactly needs to be done

Susan Burns
Susan knows about talent planning. What it looks like and what it will look like down the road. She is all about creating goodness in this business. She will be on hand leading discussions and available for amazing conversation.

Scott Love
Scott is a trainer and I’m lucky that he has agreed to come share his knowledge. I have just recently gotten to know him an through my research I have come to realize that he is a busy guy flying all over the place training recruiters to bill more. To be able to spend a day with Scott when he is in ask me anything you want to know is something of extreme value.

Each person mentioned above will be leading tracks in a unconference kind of way. This means you come to Toronto not for a day of listening but rather for a day of sharing. This means that everyone who will be there will want to know what you think as well. The track leaders above will facilitate a conversation that will last the entire day. It’s a great way to learn and to teach.

The night of the 19th, I have arranged a charity poker event and so far I have raised $6900. Kennedy information is making this possible and SkillSurvey is sponsoring the drumming circle

TalentMaze agreed to be a lead sponsor of RecruitFest and I really appreciate that.

The things I have not done well so far has been the promotion of RecruitFest!. I really thought initially that people would flock to this given the layout of the day. I was wrong and I have learned something about the conference business. Having said this, I am not going to be freaked out any longer.

The event is fast approaching and if you want to participate and the cost has gotten you down, well, just call me and lets talk about it.
