We are looking for a “back-end” developer for our Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence application. We have an Oracle Data Warehouse and we use the latest version of Oracle Warehouse Builder to extract data from our ERP system, which is QAD. We then use Cognos 8 to do reporting against this. The ideal candidate must have Oracle Warehouse Builder experience as well as a good working knowledge of data warehouse best practices such as understanding concepts such as the pro’s and con’s of slowly changing dimensions. Our QAD ERP system is a Progress database and we would find it highly unlikely that any candidate would have Progress experience. Other desirable skills include proficiency with SQL.



This is permanent position and we are very open to contract to hire. Excellent communication skills are required in this position as the candidate will be gathering specifications from users and coordinating with both users and our Database Administrator. I have no interest in those candidates that jump from job to job every 24 months looking for the next greatest thing. We are building a long-term staff and want someone who is looking for a more permanent situation. Ideally a candidate would have knowledge of Cognos 8 tools such as Framework Manage, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, etc. in order to provide coverage for our front-end person.
