THURSDAY, Dec. 11th at 3pm ET / 12pm PT
Join Joe Gerstand for his Talent Talk Cafe debut. Joe's background includes leading diversity and inclusion strategic practices as well as group collaboration and innovation. Joe's Talent Talk Cafe area of focus is "Buried Treasures" and he launches his Chat this week with a discussion on The Power of Assumptions!

"What assumptions are you operating on as you work to identify talented employees, reliable business partners or a trust-worthy mate?

It is in our nature as humans to make assumptions and fill in the gaps regarding people, groups of people and situations, assumptions can lead us towards very bad outcomes. Lets chat about assumptions, where they come from, how they influence our behavior and decision making and some things we can do to limit the negative impact that assumptions might have on us, our organizations and our communities."

What are Buried Treasures? Joe looks at Intangible Assets @ Work and each Chat Joe will explore some of these with you and how they can advantage you in personal and professional relationships. A number of characteristics influence Joe's approach like:

trust
integrity
diversity
attitude
inclusion
relational capital
communication
good decision making

"All are important but they tend to be almost impossible to quantify and measure and sometimes difficult to understand. Because of their intangible nature sometimes we ignore them all together and focus on the more tangible aspects of work that are easy to measure and monitor. Each of these chats will take a look at one of these intangibles, some relevant research and some examination of how to capitalize on them."
