I have always tried to be a resourceful person and have thoroughly enjoyed perusing the Wedding Announcements on a weekly basis to hear the good news of another couple jumping into the wedding bliss pool. Along with those announcements there is usually some tidbit (not all but most) in there about where people work and what position or if they are moving to another location.

Have some fun, I just did a simple search on Google like this ( wedding announcements programmer analyst) and got 34K+ hits. Now take the strings you've learned in this group or elsewhere and tweak that down to your own search specifics. Call people up and congratulate them on their good news! It's a warm call and you will be pleasantly surprised by how many people are open to making better money or relocating closer to their families with the recent announcement of bliss and additional responsibilities in their lives - I'm telling ya, it'll pay off for you to make that call. It can be fun and you could be part of something great in helping them improve their lives - can you say double placement with the spouses! It can be done. Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS on your recent marriage! ;-)

Hahahaha - That's genius.
Well done and thanks for passing on the tip.
I love the instant rapport building conversation starter that is built into it.
Nice post, Dean, and uniquely refreshing, too ! This is a great reminder, as I was taught to do this over 13 years ago when I was first trained in recruiting; (of course, we didn't have the luxury of google & the computer & we found our wedding announcement people the old fashioned way by reading the newspapers ;) With the power at our fingertips today, there's no reason not to use this great tip! Thanks for sharing it with us! ~Dina
