Onrec, a leading global resource for online recruitment, today announced the creation of Online Recruitment Gives Back (Onrec GB), the new philanthropic arm of Onrec USA.

Onrec GB’s mission is twofold: to provide direct support to workers struggling to better their lives in the face of overwhelming circumstances and to help motivate Onrec’s large and growing community of business leaders to make a difference in the world.

Initially, Onrec GB will partner with Kiva to help the micro-lending organization provide loans to entrepreneurs in the developing world.

To launch Onrec GB, Onrec USA will donate a portion of the proceeds from the Onrec 2009 Conference & Expo, to be held in Chicago, November 3-4, 2009, to Kiva.

“Kiva greatly appreciates Onrec’s support, and we are proud to be chosen as Onrec GB’s inaugural partner,” said Gerard Niemira, spokesperson for Kiva.

In the future, Onrec GB will expand its reach to include additional non-profit organizations, with the intention of providing assistance to individuals displaced and unemployed as a result of natural and other catastrophic disasters.

Going forward, there will also be opportunities for direct recruiter and corporate involvement. Business journalist and Online Recruitment Magazine Features Editor Paula Santonocito, founder of Onrec GB, intends to leverage Onrec’s sister site, TalentManagementTech.com (TMT), and other social networking platforms to provide information and encourage dialogue.

Why Onrec GB, and why now?
