Circumvent The Costly Effects of Training An Unqualified Employee

Session Description:
A potential new hire's resume is only as good as their ability to clearly articulate in a meaningful manner the value they've provided to companies in the past. Think if two candidates each stated respectively the following:

· Increased ROI by 25%

· Increased client's ROI by 25%, exceeding goals 4x over and enabling company to make first acquisition

The latter is certainly more appealing on a resume, but how does the employer know if that person is indeed more qualified? While an in-person interview is another good indicator, how do employers determine which candidate truly has a sound understanding of their industry and job function, as well as the confidence to perform well?

During this session, Mary will discuss new tools available to online job seekers and employers that turn a traditional resume on its head, getting to the core of an individual's true knowledge about his or her job. By having this type of acute insight into an employee's job understanding and confidence level, employers can circumvent the costly effects of training an unqualified employee, only to have them leave a few months later or, worse, lose business because of a knowledge gap. Mary will also discuss how the benefits of such solutions additionally go beyond the recruitment process to provide employees a way to continuously improve throughout their career. With employees always in a position to excel, employers have the optimum staffing at any given time.

Speaker Bio:
Mary has served as Chief Executive of Cognisco since January 2004. Under her leadership the company has achieved sustained profitability and implemented a new operating model, developed a more customer and market driven culture and expanded the role and reach of Cognisco.

Mary brings a wealth of business experience to Cognisco. She has worked for a number of technology based companies including start-ups and high growth businesses. She has held UK, European and Worldwide roles for small, medium and large businesses. Her knowledge of Sales and Marketing together with experience in software and services organizations forms a basis of experience to guide Cognisco as it grows both nationally and into other geographical markets.

Before joining Cognisco, Mrs Clarke spent over twenty years in the IT and Telecommunications industry. She has developed a number of businesses from start-up in the UK and Far-East, served as Vice President for Lucent Technologies, formerly AT&T Network Systems and as Director of Network Services, Digital Equipment Company Limited.

Mary is a mathematics graduate from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh.
