Transition from tech recruiter to physician recruiter proving to be a challenge

I recently made the decision to follow through on a goal of mine to move into physician recruitment after 10 years of being a tech recruiter. The process is a slow one as i am still working ft for my agency and pursuing doctors in the evening and weekends. The realty hit me recently that this isn't as simple as i thought it would be although it does take me back to my early recruiting days and reminds me how challenging it was back then as well. I have connected with a few agencies that have offered some direction and training in exchange for working on there open jobs for splits which has proven great. My thoughts though are that although there are open jobs in many differnet disciplines in medical, i should probrably focus my efforts on 1-2 niches at most to build up my network and my name in the new space. Anyone have any insight into this approach? It really makes sense to me especially considering this space is heavy candidate driven and finding open jobs to work on doesn't seem to much of a hassle. Anyone with any specific physician recruiting experience, if you have any insight into particular niches that have proven challenging yet rewarding, i would be happy to hear about that as well.
