Company Description Our client is a services and testing company with over 1000 laboratories globally. They are continuing to invest, expanding and opening a new multi-testing facility in the LA area. Seeking a senior level individual to head up the business development for the west coast. Ideally connections in Oil, Gas and Chemicals and as the facility builds momentum, assisting other business units such as Minerals, Life Science and Environmental.
Job Description Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for North America and working in a matrix environment you will: Lead the management team in all aspects of the business and personnel development. Take management and strategy decisions to improve business performance and prepare aggressive but attainable budgets and business plans. Participate in the strategic growth plan of the business, and develop a clear and executable sales & marketing strategy Act as the ambassador to promote the brand to the customers on the West Coast Identify and explore opportunities for growth (new services & acquisitions). Ensure competitive pricing in line with business guidelines Support international sales activity led directly by the Corporate business Implement group standard processes in the Western Region related to IT, HR, Legal, Compliance, Finance, etc. and ensure appropriate financial and process controls
Skill Required University degree in business management or related field. MBA preferred 10-15 years direct operational/management experience in a service related business ( previous P&L experience a must) Extensive business experience in the West Coast and currently based in California Ideally sold services into Oil, Gas and Chemical sectors on the West Coast Coordinate and motivate teams toward a common goal and coordinate several activities simultaneously Translate strategy into pragmatic action plans and execute Energy to motivate management teams to always deliver results / acts quickly and decisively; able to make tough calls. Takes ownership of objectives and holds self and others accountable Demands and shares success and works well under pressure Mastery of risk management and financials
