Workers and employers have expressed a desire for outplacement and career transition services.

Recruiters looking to outsource invoice services to an agency may be interested to hear that UK employers and employees are calling for outplacement and career transition provisions.

Services such as career guidance, CV or interview advice should be a compulsory part of all redundancies, those polled by Hays stated. In fact, nearly two thirds of employers want the government to fund this kind of support.

Nearly half (47 per cent) of employers believe it should be compulsory for organisations to provide career transition services to staff being made redundant, the study of almost 300 human resource professionals and line managers found.

More than 750 workers across the public, private and voluntary sectors were also involved in the research, which revealed that they are expecting further redundancies in the next 12 months.

The Institute for Public Policy Research states that the number of people working part-time because they are unable to find full-time work has exceeded one million.
