Our company is currently utilizing a candidate tracking system through Ceridian--and we are at our wits end with the company (they aren't working out for our payroll either).

Therefore- I think we are going to buy a software for recruiting- I need recommendations on what is easy and efficient for candidate tracking!

I personally have used: Peoplesoft, ACT!, and now Ceridian

Hello Cory,

There are certainly a number of solutions out there. Jeff Weidner mentioned a document of ATS reviews. This is available through Personfied which is a CareerBuilder company. The guide is offered at $350.

I always like to recommend JobDig Tracker for obvious reasons, which is great solution for $179 for unlimited users. However, like I tell most folks I work with, it is important to find an applicant tracking system that works the way you do.

Best of luck!

Hi Cory,

as some have made a note already, it really depends on how big your company is, what kind of features are you looking for, and most importantly - what kind of budget do you have for a new ATS.

Some very good suggestions have been given here, but of course it all depends on your situation. In case your company is not a huge enterprise and you look for something easy I'd encourage you to check out SmartRecruiters at www.smartrecruiters.com. It might not have all the bells and whistles of the big boys out there and it is still in Beta, but it is completely FREE of charge. No trials, restrictions, or limits. Free and easy.

After all, why do you have to pay for an ATS?

Good luck with your search!

"After all, why do you have to pay for an ATS?" I think that's a terrible tag line.

I met Jerome and really like the system and i really like that he knows it is far off from being something that recruiters are going to drop everything and run to.

Personally, I like Taleo a lot. I think it is easy to use and there are a vast amount of capabilities. I was on the Implementation Team when we rolled it out a few years ago at Pepsi Bottling Group. On top of using it as an ATS, we were able to complete all of our AAP Data and OFCCP Audit Info using Taleo.

I now work for a 3rd party (RPO Model). One of our Fortune 100 clients, who hires 5,000 people a year, uses Taleo. When I was a Recruiting Manager on this account, I was able to train my entire team on the functions in less than a day and had them up and running. There are so many great tools within the application.

That said, Taleo isn't necessarily the best on the market but it is the best known and fastest growing. Based on my experience Taleo will serve all of your hiring needs for sure!
You may want to have a look at SmartRecruiters - ATS, Free and Easy, no limitations.

SmartRecruiters is a free, feature-rich Applicant Tracking System for corporate recruiters in companies with up to 2,500 employees. Unlike other ATS products, SmartRecruiters is a community-based application that connects users to other member recruiters and essential recruiting services. SmartRecruiters empowers users across the entire recruitment process, from generating and posting jobs, building career sites, managing candidate relationships and scheduling interviews, to rating and hiring candidates. Recruiting technology has never been so free and easy.

VCG Staff Suite -- Wonderful product!
Cory,

If you want to message me - I would be more than happy to give you the names of a few products that actually fit your unique situation. Many of the systems below are great systems - but don't work for all companies.

To get a quick shortlist you need to know the type of recruiting you do, number of users, if you have hiring managers involved in the process, if you have global/multi-lingual needs, what type of budget (if you even have one), etc.

If you send that over to me I will give you the names of a few products within a few minutes. I work with a lot of companies at the stage you are at and through the entire process and can be honest with you that you are not the only person I have heard the same challenges with recently.

Look forward to helping -

Another deja vu all over again thread. 26 or so responses and they all tout something different. Ah, the wacky world of applicant tracking...
