Every single day, a new technological breakthrough is knocking on your monitor, trying to break in. Trying to get your attention:
try me, try me, try me. Upload our Beta version, upgrade to version 3.0, check out the newest gadget, you don't want to miss this...
It is a very exciting time to be involved with technology and new media. Twitter continues to take the internet world by storm as it gleans your latest updates and information from the major social media players.
Are you connected? And mashable tweeted some very exciting news yesterday, "Google search goes Real Time!" Can anyone really afford to not know about Twitter anymore?
It surprises me that there are those that still resist.
Technologizer.com (Harry McCracken) shared that MySpace and Facebook have partnered with the big G to provide user updates to Google's real-time feed. What will this mean to search as we know it? The game is changing, faster than most will be able to keep up.
Auto update: the speed of information transfer just increased. And you thought it couldn't get any faster?
Every day, one site or another announces innovative breakthroughs, new functionalities, faster downloads, sharper images and it feels the speed of light just got slower. I contend
again: there are no social/new media experts. How could there possibly be? There are only those that are flexible enough to be ok with trying to keep up or those that actually get it every now and then and do a video or write a blog. Just when you master
one, version
two launches. Just when you think you have Web 2.0 all figured out, be prepared to actually step into your monitor to
Tron.
I like the changes. I like hearing about them through Twitter or my Facebook news feed. I enjoy knowing that we
have to keep learning. I also am thankful that we
cannot possibly keep up with this speed. Adaptation takes longer, most brains just need a bit more time.
The phone. Lest we forget, the phone still functions pretty close to the same way it did last week.
For now. While your brain is playing catch up, pick up the phone, call the warm leads you sourced from Facebook
or Twitter
or LinkedIn
or Plaxo. The game
is changing, but the song remains the same...
people like doing business with people they know.
So take a chance- Reach out. Reach out and touch someone...
