How important is the receptionist in the hiring process?

We know how important the recruiter is important. Their the first step to the interview. We know how important the hiring manager is. They decide who earns the job. But what about the receptionist. Do they play a role in the process? Some would say yes. What say you?

In the hiring process itself?  No.  Providing feedback (non-biased) on candidates as it relates to their time with the receptionist?  Yes.
