Independent Recruiters: What keeps you motivated in your work? Describe how you structure your day!

I'm definitely excited about the recruiting projects that I'm working on but what keeps you super motivated to keep plugging away? I left the corporate life to focus more on making money as an Independent and I'm working quit a few splits. But I'm starting to bite off a little more than I can chew.

I want to know how do you Independent Recruiters structure your day to touch each requisition?

How many do you work on any given time?

What are you weekly goals?

It's very different than working a "regular" staffing/recruiting job...just needing some guidance on how to get things rolling on my end, because I want to be consistent.

Looking forward to your responses!

Hi Jai, great questions!  Each time I make a placement I'm motivated to make more and help my customers.  I also have a dream board that I rely on to keep me motivated.  On the board I have pictures of my family, our past vacations, vacations we want to take, cars I would like, a picture of our house, etc.  Items that are part of a dream that by working and making success happen, I can make them happen.

1st part of the day is call backs, emails, visits of clients and candidates to stay connected.  Moving on to interviews and then once those are finished, I start calls to prospective clients and candidates that are place-able.  Depending on the day I then organize and regroup to check progess and start planning for the next day.

I'm always motivated when I meet with prospective customers because I know I can help them work smarter and take the weight of hiring off of them.  I usually come back from those meetings ready to take on the world and hit the phones even more.

I work no more than 10 at a time.  As far as goals, what are you referring to?  Calls, placements, interviews, sales?

Consistency is key, good luck!
