Last week I noticed chatter in the MagicMethod sourcing class about LinkedIn limiting results to 100. When did this go into effect? Someone also mentioned that "LI now makes u pay to see more than 100 responses in ur search which sucks since i'm the one that built my network" and someone else confirmed it to me today on the phone. What dollar amount are they asking for an increase in results and what does this bode for the future of LI? Does it make any difference if you're a paid subscriber (or not)?

I noticed this as well Maureen, great topic.
On the other hand if you spider through search engines with Boolean you can still see all the results
Maureen,

I'd say there is no need to pay, still. Here are a few notes on this.

If you search within LinkedIn groups, the # of search results is limited but it is still 500.

If you search on Google the limit of the # of results you can see is 1,000.

If you want to see more than 100 results in a LI search there are simple ways to play with your search to achieve that. Here's the general idea. Add a keyword to your search; then repeat the search and add the same key with a NOT in front. Or, look at a different location each time you search. Etc.

So button down on your search parameters?
Maureen,

I'm sorry, I am not sure what you mean. Perhaps you could clarify?

You can search for whatever you would have searched before, then add more search items to narrow down your search. By varying these additional search items you would be able to see more results than 100. For example if you wanted to search for "SAP consultant" you could search for

"SAP consultant MM FICO"
"SAP consultant MM NOT FICO"
"SAP consultant NOT MM FICO"
"SAP consultant NOT MM NOT FICO"

This is just an example.

This is just an example.

I think we mean the same thing - I should have used the word "tighten" rather than "button".
Right
