Hope you don't mind me asking a question instead of writing, but would like to see what others have experienced with splits.

Is it always a 50/50?  Have an offer on the table and doesn't seem like they did 50% of the work.  They found the candidate and did a prescreen.  It is my client, I did the candidate interview, prepped the candidate, did candidate references and worked with the client.  Can I offer a 60/40 split?   I know the mistake here is we didn't set up the parameters first, but want to do the right thing, but not give money away.

Thanks for your thoughts and happy holidays!

It's usually 50/50, but the candidate person usually does the full interview and the references. They should also be the one closing the candidate, are you doing that too?

Thanks for your response.  All they did is supply me with the resume - no follow up with me or the candidate.  I am closing the candidate too. That's why I'm thinking 60/40.

Yes, 60/40. I'm working a split with someone doing that arrangement, it's not typical, but on this one it's what we are doing.
