In follow up to today's RBC Daily:
There was an interesting Marist poll released last Friday that listed the most annoying words in English conversation. Any guesses on the winner? "Whatever" topped the list at 38% from the national poll. Others that made the list were “like”, "you know", and "seriously".
As recruiters we talk to numerous people day in and day out so it makes for a great question of the day: what word or phrase do your candidates use that drive you crazy and are akin to nails on a chalkboard

When candidates say "I will do anything" or "I'm open to anything"....that is not how you market yourself, clients don't like a "jack of all trades"....ugggg that's another one that I don't like....lol
Reach out makes ME want to reach out - and STRANGLE you!
Of course I'm the one who has a whole thing about people who use words on their resumes that can't be used in Scrabble. I have some issues in this regard.
I just screened a candidate who used full sentences created from multiple repetitions of "ya know..." and "but whatever."
Passion... which is the buzzword du jour
...and IMO, it's the worst recruiting buzzword ever, over used by candidates & recruiters alike. Yawn. Passion-schmassion. When did this become a job requirement? I'd settle for "excellent" or "damn good" for most positions.
